Beautiful Fall Morning in PDX

Not such a bad morning I'd say. This is my favorite part of Fall- the leaves.

Fishing Adventures in Tillamook

This weekend we went to Tillamook and went fishing. Although rainy and cold I had the best time! So beautiful and magical.

My Sunny Fall in Portland

It has been wonderfully hot and sunny in Portland all summer. Today and tomorrow are no exception. I can't believe it will be almost 90 here in Fall! Sun is a big deal to us Portlander's who have to face 8 months of depressing rain and gray skies. So I am enjoying all this weather as much as possible. Last weekend we went camping again and this weekend we are going to Detroit Lake for some more camping!

It has been a good summer I'd say. Now if only I didn't have to work.

Back from camping...can I go back already?

We had a wonderful few days camping at the Deschutes river. We saw rattlesnakes, big horn sheep, mule deer, and of course steelhead salmon. So yummy! Also, there were blackberries growing everywhere, beautiful birds, and warm weather. Life was pretty simple. I wish it was always that way. I only took pictures with my phone so the photos are a little blurry.

Off Camping at Deschutes!

I am off to go camping in less then 8 hours at the Deschutes River! I am so excited to go camping for the first time since I was in my teen years. Whoo-hoo! There will be stars and smores and yummy fresh fresh from the river. Very excited in you can't tell. The only downside is not having a real shower for a few days- I mean there is swimming in the river but not exactly the same...

A Perfect Summer Day at Sauvie Island

We went to Sauvie Island this weekend just outside Portland. In addition to having beaches that aren't to crowded there are also farms to pick fresh raspberries, blueberries, and marionberries. The weather was warm and sunny. Perfect.

We also visited Kruger's market.

We enjoyed burgers, corn on the cobb straight from their field, and beer out of a bus by Captured by Porches:

The kind of summer day I will dream about during winter.

Day at Hood River Oregon

Yesterday we went on a beautiful road trip. We meant to go to the volcano Mt. St. Helen's which blew up in the 1980s but the GPS led us 2 hours astray to a town called Hood River in Oregon. It is a warm little town known for Windsurfing, Kitesurfing, and it's cool little hipster town with microbrew beers (we love our beers in Oregon). That is Mt. Hood (another volcano) in the background.

A Summer Evening in Portland

I invited a nice couple we know over to my place- which I have never done! We made dinner (well he made dinner) and I made dessert of shortcake, whip cream, with fresh raspberries and blueberries picked at Sauvie Island. There was lots of talking and wine and and a walk down Hawthorne to the Bagdad for a Greyhound drink which has fresh grapefruit juice and vodka.

Then down to Belmont for wine and appetizers at Circa 33

Which led to me dancing in the street at the end of the night walking home.
