Last Thursday
Every last Thursday of the month in the summer Alberta Street in Portland shuts down. It is basically a big fair in the street where all the shops and people selling anything and everything stay open late, all the restaurants and breweries are filled to the brim with beer loving Portlanders, and food trucks, weirdos, and wide eyed tourists abound. It was crowded and involved lots of long lines. We may go again.

Hot and Sunny in Portlandia
I make no secret of it- I love the sun. I never really thought about it before when I lived in California. Pretty much everyday was sunny where I lived. Now it is pretty much rainy and cloudy for most of the year in Portland, Oregon. Until summer. It was 85 and sunny and I spent it gardening, laying on the beach reading, walks, bike rides to the farmers market, and naps. Just plain lazy. And the two cats both got their bathes and weren't so happy with us!

Camping By The River
Deschutes River camping was relaxing. I mountain biked while he fished. There were campfires, owls, snakes, quail, geese, rabbits, and lizards. It was hard to come back to civilization on Sunday.
